This link is meant to help all students/professionals wishing to pursue postgraduate studies abroad. It provides a comprehensive list of all the possible scholarships available in India. I have personally tried to locate many trusts mentioned in the list. Most of them are non existent or have stopped providing scholarships. One of the ways to go about is to visit the Govt. Trust office in Mumbai which maintains a list of trusts which cater to the needs of a specific section of the society. A lot of effort can be saved this way.Any sort of queries are welcome.

Malaise of a Surprise Quiz
Damn it!!!!
I was so badly prepared.
I did not get the attention
as my brother in Rocky's course did.
In the name of knowledge,
and learning,
and constant practice.
I was forced upon these innocent souls.
Look at them!
Just look at them!!
Look at their faces.
full of hatred and scorn.
Their minds muddled,
Their faces contorted,
Their brains lost.
Whether words or strange black letters
It does not make a difference
Be Coz
The effort put on both sides is the same.
The expectations on one side too high.
Gone are those days
When the instructor
was on the other side of the table.
History forgotten.
Today is the day,
History repeats
with new players.
Switching sight from paper to instructor
Except few,
Echoes could be heard in hundreds of minds.
Trying to find a target,
but lacking the courage.
I get sick
I puke these godly words
in ears full of wax.
"Get Real".
The pen makes a sound.
"Globe" marches all over me.
I look at the wicked smile
and pray for things to change.
And then....
And then....
I make friends with the writing rod.

Activities
Its again a mixture of Old and New. This time some absolute gems by some great directors - old and new - were experienced.
To start off we have Christopher Nolan's low budget - "Following". Seeing it u will believe that this man is an artist when it comes to non linear movies.(Others being : Memento, The Prestige). In fact, it is his first movie.
One more first is by Robert Redford. "Ordinary People" deals with a rather unusual concept - response of different family members to a death in the family.
Then we have "The Apartment" by Billy Wilder. He is the same man who gave you "Sunset Boulevard". BOllywood has remembered this man by having this movie's plot as one of the sub plots in "The Metro".
Brian De Palma's - Carlito's Way and David Lynch's The Straight Story follow the list. Mira Nair's "The Namesake" is a good movie.
To top the list is the Oscar winning(Best Foreign Movie Category) is "The Lives of Others". A must watch movie for any movie buff. It will shake u up and redefine the underlying concept of loneliness in one's life.
Then we have one of the most famous creations of Hitchcock - Psycho. At the end of the movie if one stands confused then Hcock has acheived his goal.
One of the best lists I have or will produce.

Activities
Well the last 3 weeks have been a mixture of Old and New - both Hindi and English. The Movie of the week is "Manorama - Six Feet Under". Director Navdeep Singh is too humble to accept that the movie has been influenced by Roman Polanski's "Chinatown".
The script is great. The actors portraying different roles are excellent. It is slow to start with but as it gradually gains pace, you will be hooked to your couches. There is twist at every turn and you are dying to know whats going to happen next. There are certain scenes, situations when the characters do not come off as genuine but that can be neglected.
I have discovered a great Indian Gem yesterday(read Guru Dutt). I am planning to watch some of his movies and see for myself the famous Guru Dutt Shot.
Happy Watching!!!!!

Grindhouse - Death proof
So very Tarantino - Simple Story, small but powerful characters, mind blowing dialogues. Before you judge anything, I must admit that I am a big TTino fan. I was enjoying each and every scene even when some of them were predictable.I liked Kurt Russell's character. Not to say that I am a male chauvinist but one thing I am sure that his "Icy Hot" jacket truly matched his cool persona and his madness. Its bound to remain etched for long in viewer's memories.TTIno's interests seem to be shifted in favour of the fair sex. After the Kill Bill series, we again find that tough girls are as cool as tough men. With a Lap Dance thrown here and there and some hot n short dresses , it makes for a mouth watering watch(;-) sorry girls). These girls are tough and ready(& capable too) to kick XYZ's a** if he dares cross their path. The movie might also rise interest in a movie called "Vanishing Point(1971 n 1997 edition)" because of the mention of Dodge Challenger. All and all its one more movie from TTino's bag. Must watch for those who are fans and a Must Watch for those who havent checked him out yet.

Dead Poets Society
This became all a more meaningful movie because of my experiences at IIM Lucknow। I like to call this place a "Glorified jail" .
Anyways this is one of the most powerful performances given by Robin Williams। Its a pity that I did not hear about this movie earlier. Ethan Hawke looks like a kid n in fact he is a kid considering the year this movie was made.It explorers an extremely different relationship that a teacher shares with his students.
One of the scenes where Robin The Teacher brings out the best in Ethan Hawke - one of the most shy students of the class - to bring out lines of importance (read POEM) is truly mind boggling. All his methods were questionable according to conventional methods but he never cared. He knew that he had a class to teach and the best way to do that is to involve all his students(interested or uninterested).
But the SYSTEM is supreme and You have to fall in line or otherwise YOU will be forced to fall in line. Luckily this was not the case with Williams until an unfortunate incident took place and The Sys got its chance.Believe me it will be one of the eye openers of your life. It will give you courage to question the set standards. An opportunity to Free Will n Free think otherwise one more reason to submit and die while you r alive.Watch and let ur spirit fly!!!!!!

Two Strangers
Their eyes meet
They dare not smile
They dare not say anything
for the fear of the world
tears them apart;
Their hearts meet
in those small "chats"
which they steal out of everyone's stare
A moment of reprieve
A moment to cherish
Smiles find places to spread
Hearts find places to bulge
Remembering those "chats" that happened
Both souls share a common flare.
Look how she blushes
Look at his grin
all the suitors out there
I have an advice
for its time to leave them alone.
however long your reach
they are far gone.
The question arises
"Why are we strangers"
Is the world to be blamed
Is the situation to be blamed
or are WE to be blamed
Why care for a land
which does not provide space
to two tender souls
The boy musters courage
Today it will be
When he wont care
When he would smile
express his feelings
try evoke a response
Let the world do
what it could dare
The girl risk not take a step
Help indulge the boy in impulses
of the youth
The situation asks for patience.
She dare not slip
and ask for staring whips.
The smile not arriving
The heart trampled by the silent tread
He could read her eyes
and see them plead
Go away
Go away
the time is not ripe
we are better as we are
in this strange land of gazers
Two Perfect Strangers.
They dare not smile
They dare not say anything
for the fear of the world
tears them apart;
